20 BOYS FROM THE APICES ASSOCIATION ARE INITIATED IN ROWING THANKS TO THE HELP OF THE PORT AUTHORITY
Cartagena, 15 October 2019.- This morning 20 boys from the APICES Association started their rowing initiation at the Cartagena Royal Regatta Club.
The activity is subsidised by the Port Authority of Cartagena within the regulatory aid framework which aims to allow associations, NGOs and other institutions based in the municipality of Cartagena or the Region of Murcia to apply for grants on a competitive basis, in a transparent, objective manner. The amount for 2019 is 100,000 euros.
The aid is framed in the Spanish Strategy 2014-2020 addressed at companies, public administrations and other organisations; the Port Authority has established its CSR strategies with the aim of achieving a more competitive, productive, sustainable and integrating society and economy, supporting actions and initiatives for the educational, social and cultural development of its surroundings.
In the already resolved FIRST CALL, 35 non-profit institutions have benefited from the promotion of sports-social and/or cultural-educational projects. The grants range from €500 to €3,000 depending on the score obtained. The "Sessions for awareness of people with disabilities" project undertaking hiking routes, cultural visits and rowing initiation, presented by APICES, is one of the beneficiaries.
An additional €30,000 is currently open until 20 November for non-profit associations established in the Region following the authorisation of State Ports to increase the amount.
